August Presidential Search Update

TO: Members of the Culver-Stockton College Community
FROM: Ron Leftwich ’64, Chair of the Presidential Search Committee
SUBJECT: Presidential Search Update
DATE: August 22, 2019

As the Presidential Search Committee is preparing to begin its work, I want to provide you with an update about ways you can assist in the search for Culver-Stockton’s 27th President and a worthy successor to President Kelly M. Thompson.

Presidential Search Committee
A Presidential Search Committee of 15 people has been established. The committee consists of trustees from the Culver-Stockton Board of Trustees, senior college leaders, faculty, staff, a C-SC student and a leading member of the Canton Community. The committee will work with Julie Tea, partner in the search firm Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, along with members of the firm. You will find the names of the committee on the Culver-Stockton presidential search webpage at

Survey to gather community input
Input from the Culver-Stockton community is essential at this early stage of the search. We want to learn your thoughts about the College’s priorities and the qualities, skills and experiences you will be looking for in the next President. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends of the College are encouraged to take a few minutes to complete a confidential survey, found here:

Early September forums to gather community input
Look for an email soon about campus forums regarding the presidential search. Consultants from Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates will visit campus September 5 and 6 to conduct an important pre-search study. They will be seeking thoughts from constituents about Culver-Stockton’s future and our community’s expectations for the next President.

After gathering information from the campus, the consulting team, in conjunction with the search committee, will create the search prospectus, an important document that will describe the College, as well as the leadership opportunities for the next President. This profile will be an important recruitment tool as we move forward with the search.

Thank you in advance for your support and participation in the search process. I will write to you again shortly with additional information regarding the open forums.
