FIRST-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS

Pillars for Excellence Scholarship: Full-tuition for four years at the student's freshman tuition value. This competition scholarship is awarded to a limited number of students with superior academic achievement. Eligible students will be asked to complete an essay and will be invited to campus to compete for this selective scholarship by participating in an interview with two faculty members.

Eligibility: Minimum 26 ACT or 1170 SAT (critical reading and math) and a minimum 3.75 GPA based on a 4.0 grading scale (or equivalent) or top 10% of graduating class (If class rank is unavailable, students must meet the other two requirements to be eligible to compete). The scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains a 3.20 GPA. All academic scholarships are based upon students' academic credentials at time of admission. No increases will be made for increases to GPA or ACT scores after the student is admitted.
Pillars recipients are ineligible for additional institutional scholarships or awards throughout their career at C-SC.

Trustee's Scholarship: $52,000 ($13,000 per year for four years).

President's Scholarship: $46,000 ($11,500 per year for four years). 

Hilltop Scholarship: $40,000 ($10,000 per year for four years).

Wildcat Scholarship: $32,000 ($8,000 per year for four years).

Promise Scholarship: $24,000 ($6,000 per year for four years).

Eligibility: Awarded based upon academic credentials and renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

Dean's Scholarship: $10,000 each year.  Eligibility: Admitted students are nominated with a minimum 3.40 college GPA. The scholarship is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Faculty Scholarship: $8,000 each year. Eligibility: Admitted students are nominated with a minimum 2.80 college GPA. The scholarship is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Transfer Scholarship: $7,000 each year. Eligibility: Admitted students are nominated with a minimum 2.25 college GPA. The scholarship is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship may be available to transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Eligibility: Admitted students are nominated with a minimum 3.50 college GPA. The scholarship is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Partners In Education Scholarship : $1,000 scholarship may be available in participation with community colleges. 

Partner's in Nursing Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship may be available to transfer nursing majors.

*Nursing students may receive financial aid scholarships from Culver-Stockton College during their freshman and sophomore years. During that time, they are also eligible to participate in the Travel Study Grant program. Once a nursing student is accepted as a junior by the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing, then Blessing-Rieman determines their financial aid for their junior and senior years. At that point, the student is no longer eligible for the Travel Study grant through Culver-Stockton College.

The Pillars for Excellence Scholarships provide full tuition scholarships (awarded annually at the freshman value) to highly qualified students with exceptional intellectual ability.

Recipients of the scholarship are expected to demonstrate both the qualities of mind and the qualities of person that will allow a student to flourish in C-SC’s rigorous but community-orientated academic environment and in the challenging world beyond college.

To be eligible, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Apply and be admitted to the College as a first time freshman
  • 26 ACT/1240 SAT
  • 3.75 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale or rank in the top 10% of graduating class

Competition includes:

  • Visit campus between October and January and tour campus with a Wildcat Ambassador
  • Meet with our Pillars Scholar Committee
  • Submit an essay prior to the conclusion of the competition

*Pillars Scholars (all Pillars competitors) will be enrolled automatically in the C-SC Honors Program. Students with an early confirmation (i.e., paid the $200 confirmation fee) will receive priority placement in the course. 

**The Pillars for Excellence Scholarship recipients are ineligible for additional institutional scholarships or awards throughout their career at Culver-Stockton. Pillars for Excellence Scholarships can be renewed annually at the value of the student's freshman year if the student maintains a 3.2 cumulative GPA and continuous enrollment in the Honors Program at Culver-Stockton.

A+ Scholarship (First-Year Students Only): $1,500 scholarship may be available for students who participate in the Missouri A+ Program. 

Fine Arts Scholarship: All students skilled in the areas of music, art and theatre are encourage to audition, regardless of intended major. Eligibility: Students must participate in an audition/evaluation exhibiting their talent to C-SC faculty.

Athletic Scholarships: Athletic awards are available to students with outstanding athletic ability or potential and based on recommendation by the coach of the respective sport. Each award varies and is renewable as participation continues and on recommendation of the sport's coach. Student-athletes are encouraged to participate in other campus programs should they meet the established criteria. All prospective student-athletes should complete an athletic interest form, available from the Admission Office. C-SC is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Disciples Grant: A renewable scholarship of $1,000 may be awarded to students who are members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). A minimum $1,000 scholarship may be awarded based on eligibility and availability of funding. In addition to the $1,000 minimum award, the college may match the church's contribution from a scholarship fund up to an additional $500 (a maximum award from the college of $1,500). Eligibility: Application and signed agreement required.

Legacy Award: If at least one of the student's parents, grandparents or siblings have attended Culver-Stockton College full-time for one semester or more, the student may be eligible for a $1,000 award.

Culver-Stockton Grant: The Culver-Stockton Grant is contingent upon financial need and is determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Eligibility: The value of this grant varies and is renewable by demonstrating financial need and academic good standing.

Extra Criteria

*Students may receive only one renewable merit scholarship (Pillars for Excellence, Trustees, Presidential, Hilltop, Wildcat, Dean's, Faculty, Transfer or Promise) per year. The college does not increase a student's institutional scholarship once the student matriculates.

*Nursing students may receive financial aid scholarships from Culver-Stockton College during their freshman and sophomore years. During that time, they are also eligible to participate in the Travel Study Grant program.
