C-SC named as a 2017-2018 College of Distinction
CANTON, Mo. – President Kelly M. Thompson is delighted to announce that Culver-Stockton College has been named a 2017-2018 College of Distinction, following its prior recognition for 2015-2016. The goal of Colleges of Distinction is to provide students, counselors and parents information about schools that excel in key areas. The key areas that colleges are evaluated for acceptance are the level of engagement of students, the teaching style of the faculty, the overall vibrancy of the community and the outcomes of the graduates and alumni.
“Culver-Stockton continues to achieve national recognition which demonstrates our sustained momentum and success,” said President Thompson. “We are thrilled to have been acknowledged once again as a College of Distinction and hope this recognition helps us continue our mission and offer even more opportunities for current and future students.”
To admit a college into the cohort, Colleges of Distinction uses an objective, in-depth methodology that is both qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative information is taken from admission experts from across the nation, as well as senior administration, faculty, alumni and current students from each nominated college. The quantitative data that Colleges of Distinction uses to assess each institution covers graduation rates, class sizes and enrollment data.
