Gilbert Wojtal ’59 has moved to Arizona with his wife and has left Illinois for good. He recently entered into the Senior Olympics in three different events. Gilbert won gold in Pinochle and silver in water volleyball. He is looking forward to 2017 with his wife and enjoying his time in Arizona.

Joyce Martello ’68 has retired and is living in Tinley Park, Ill. Joyce took a medical leave of absence from her position of CEO of the Colorado Chiropractic Association in 2011 due to AML. She received a bone marrow transplant in Sept. 2011 and is doing well. She relocated from Colorado to Illinois in July 2014.
Bev (Reeves) ’69 and Norb Twillman have four grandchildren; their daughter is due any day with a little boy! They are still enjoying life’s beauty living in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, right on Lake Coeur d’ Alene in the Bitterroot Mountains. They traveled to Europe this fall for some extensive immersion into old Europe. She works as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children taken into custody, as their voice before the court. She has been doing this for eight years and loves helping the children.
Karen (Lane) Bane ’62 has returned to Virginia after only one year of retirement in Tennessee. Karen and her husband Warren have become innkeepers at Braehead Manor B & B, a historic Manor Home (circa 1859, restored in 2008) situated on 26 acres within the bounds of the Fredericksburg National Battlefield.
Lee Plank '63 and his wife Linda (Anderson) Plank '62 will celebrate 55 years of marriage on June 15. Lee sold his business in 2001 and they have enjoyed 14 years of retirement. The couple has three children, four grandchildren and a great-grandson. The Planks reside in Florissant, Mo.
Tom Mott '65 has retired. He lives with his wife, Jackie, in a new location in Grayslake, Ill.
George Forest ’75 was recognized as one of the 2015 Top Ten African American Males by Parity Inc. George is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force having served more than 40 years. Upon his retirement he worked as a Senior Acquisition Manager for Serco-North America for over eight years. George is now a full-time volunteer for various groups in his community.
Jim Worrell ’76 retired in 2013 after 42 years in the radio and T.V. business. Jim spent 21 years at KOKX, which started as a small business and grew. He was a news and sports information director. He also worked in Elkhurt, Ind. in radio and provided the weather on channel 10’s sister station. He has also worked in Havanna, Ill.; Macomb, Ill; Ames, Iowa (providing the play by play for Iowa State); and Carrollton, Iowa. He is currently living in Hamilton, Ill.

Ellyn served the Girl Scouts, in numerous positions, and through three Girl Scout Councils: Dogwood Trails (Springfield, Mo.), Mount Magazine (Fort Smith, Ark.) and Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas (Fayettevill, Ark.)

Larry Roeder, Jr. ’74 retired as a diplomat in 2005, and became the Director for the United Nations Affairs at WSPA, a British non-profit. After 2009, he became a consultant on foreign affairs, information management and disaster management, which he still does, at one point advising the President of Somaliland on sustainable development. He has authored two textbooks on techniques of Diplomacy and edited or co-authored many more, as well as a novel in partnership with Professor Richard Holmes. He is an artist and is currently the Chair for Research on the Black History Committee of the Friends of the Balch Library in Leesburg, Va. Larry is heavily involved in politics and was recently elected Chair of the Democratic Party for the Dulles District of Loudoun County, Virginia. He has been riding camels since he was seven years old, enjoys rafting on the Mississippi River, and was the President of the C-SC Veteran’s Club.

Gary DeClue ’74 of Quincy, Ill., was named Faculty Emeritus at John Wood Community College in Quincy upon his retirement in June 2015. DeClue is an experienced actor and has received national recognition for performing the role of Senator Stephen A. Douglas in the C-Span production of the Lincoln-Douglas Debates. He has played music professionally for several years and is currently a member of Quincy’s legendary jazz group Ben Bumbry and the Messengers.

Dr. Wayne Byrnes '72 and his wife, Linda, live in Pepperell, Mass. Wayne retired in December 2013, on total disability due to increasing cognitive impairment due to a hemorrhagic stroke from a ruptured cerebral aneurysm in Aug. 1999.

Mary Oatman '79 retired from a career in art education in 2008. Since that time, she has been active in the League of Women Voters, AAUW, P.E.O., substitute teaching, gardening, reading, painting and international travel. In 2014 and 2015, she traveled with a group of watercolorists to Spain and Mexico, respectively. She currently resides in Quincy, Ill., with her husband, Dr. C. Patrick Hotle, C-SC professor of history, and on most Saturdays, she gathers for breakfast with some "Ol' Chi-Os from Canton, Mo."
Janice (Kern) Koleszar '70 is retired as a high school and college librarian. She lives with her husband, Jay, in Warren, R.I. They realized their sons' schedules prevented them from visits home together so Jan and Jay downsized and moved to Rhode Island in December 2014. They like being closer to the water and the activities they enjoy with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. They continue to enjoy traveling by land and sea (flying only when absolutely necessary) to see family and friends.
Richard Rogers '78 retired from Boeing Company and has instructed at NCAT of Wichita Area Technical College since 2008. Richard and his wife, Kathy, live in Wichita, Kan. They have seven children, 14 grandchildren and three foster children. Their youngest child and the foster children live at home.
Dr. James ’83 and Brenda (Wilkey) ’84 Masters reside in Monroe City, Mo. James is retiring from public school service after serving thirty-one years (12 years as a classroom teacher, 7 years as a middle school principal, 12 years as superintendent). He spent the last eight years as superintendent in the Monroe City R-1 School District in Monroe City, Mo. In July (2016), he will assume duties with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as the Director in the Office of Educator Quality. Primary responsibilities will include facilitating the development and implementation of a statewide leadership development program and educator evaluation. Brenda retired from full-time teaching in 2013, but continues to teach part-time in the MCR-1 reading intervention program. Their oldest son, Jacob, lives in Patagonia, Ariz. And is looking to pursue a Master’s Degree. Daughter, Meredith, will be a freshman at C-SC this fall (2016).

Tony ’93 & Christine ’93 Johnson have been married 21 years and lived Naperville, Ill. (2x's), Memphis, Tenn., Atlanta, Ga. and now back to Illinois. They have a 15-year old daughter, Stephanie Johnson. Their company Midwest Salt was named to Inc. Magazine's 2015 list of fastest growing companies. They ranked #298 and had a spotlight article written about the business. This is Tony’s second time as a CFO on the Inc. 500 list.
Mario DePasquale ’96 was promoted to the Chief of Police for the McCook Illinois Police Department in August 2013 and still serves in that capacity today. He currently lives in Lemont, Ill. with his wife, Jennifer and their two children, Dominic and Marissa.

After 14 years of teaching at the elementary level, she took the plunge three years ago and switched to an elementary/middle school art teacher. She says, "The switch has been such a joy to me!" Brett ’02 & Cayla Keyes reside in Springfield, Ill. Brett is currently a Commercial Loan Officer for Havana National Bank located in Virginia, Ill. Brett and his wife have three children, Jordan 15, Brayden 11, and Greyson who just turned 3. They live on the west side of Springfield and their children attend Pleasant Plains Schools. The kids are very active in athletics and other activities. Cayla was elected to the school board last April.
