Commencement Week Schedule of Events

Friday, May 9 - The Pinning Ceremony for nursing graduates at 2 p.m. in Madison Park Christian Church, Quincy, Ill.

Monday, May 12 - The Honors Day Celebration/Convocation. Each academic division honors students in their division in an afternoon event. An all school convocation will also be held at 7 p.m. that evening to recognize outstanding students. Graduates will process into the evening convocation in cap and gown.

May 14-16 - Senior Days. For more information contact the Student Life or Alumni.

Friday, May 16 - Commencement Rehearsal at 9:30 a.m. Students meet at the Charles Field House. All students participating in commencement are expected to attend. If a student is unable to participate in the ceremony, please contact the Registrar's Office. Honor cords will be distributed at rehearsal.

Baccalaureate is at 7:30 p.m. in the Alexander Campbell Auditorium. Graduates are strongly encouraged to attend this inspirational service. Graduates are to wear caps and gowns.

Saturday, May 17 - Commencement is at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will take place on the lawn of the Quadrangle (adjacent to Henderson Hall). In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Joe Charles Field House. Seating will begin at 7 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are not required for commencement. Please remember that there is limited seating at the graduation ceremony. If special consideration needs to be made for seating, contact the Campus Safety Office at (573) 288-6300.  If a guest needs a sign language interpreter, contact the Registrar’s Office at (573) 288-6330 or email so accommodations may be made.
For guests staying in Quincy, Illinois: There is a 5k walk/run scheduled in the area of the Mississippi River bridges in and out of Quincy on Saturday morning. Please allow extra driving time to accommodate for street and lane closures.

Shuttle Service

A shuttle service will be provided for parking in distant parking lots, including the Centerstone Inn.

Cap, Gown and Class Ring

Regalia caps and gowns can be reserved by students by logging into MyCulver, selecting the Graduation Information link from the Student tab, and completing the graduation application. The $125 graduation fee covers the cap, gown, diploma and other fees associated with graduation. The fee is added to the student's account after the application is submitted. Caps and gowns will be available for pick-up in the Registrar's Office. Class rings may be ordered at Information on ordering class rings is available in the Wildcat Warehouse on campus.


To order personalized announcements online, go to Non-personalized announcements will be available for purchase in the Registrar's Office. These should both be available by March 1, 2014.


A professional photographer will be at the commencement ceremony to take photos of graduates as they receive their diploma. Photos may be ordered after April 1.
