ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH

Culver-Stockton College is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Assistant Football Coach.  C-SC offers experiential learning with a 12-3 academic calendar which provides an innovative four-year program of studies and experiences that prepares students for career success like no other college or university in the nation.  Culver-Stockton College fields 18 NAIA sports which compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

In accordance with all NAIA, Heart of America Athletic Conference and Culver-Stockton College policies and procedures, the position of Assistant Football Coach will report to the Head Football Coach and will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of a competitive NAIA football program within the guidelines of the NAIA and assisting the head coach with recruiting responsibilities and other job duties as assigned.

Candidates should have successful experience coaching at the collegiate level and have the ability to recruit and motivate student –athletes.  The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong commitment to academic success and compliance with NAIA, HAAC and institutional policies and procedures.  A Bachelor’s Degree is required.  Salary will commensurate with experience and C-SC also offers a competitive benefits package.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF EDUCATION

The Education and Applied Arts Division of Culver-Stockton College seeks to fill a tenure-track teaching position with a scholar committed to the continued development and implementation of experiential learning and education theory, practice, and scholarship.  The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.  Responsibilities will include teaching courses in the teacher education program (elementary and/or early childhood), advising students, supervision of student teachers, and collaboration in ongoing evolution of innovative undergraduate programs.  Successful public school teaching experience in elementary education required.  Education Specialist or Ph.D/Ed.D preferred.

The scholar appointed to this position will be expected to demonstrate:

• A focus on discovering new ways to conceptualize, enact, and evaluate experiential learning and education
• A range of research methodologies and data, and mentoring students in their use
• Knowledge of experiential education’s role within the field of instructional theory and design
• Significant service to the public and private school districts of the tri-state region
• Support for a cohort-based program offered in close cooperation with area school districts and with related community agencies
• An established record of excellence in teaching and a reputation in educational leadership and innovation
• Emphasis in at least one content area
• Ability to integrate technology into instruction, including web-assigned and other alternative delivery models

COORDINATOR OF STUDENT SUCCESS AND RESIDENCE LIFE

Culver-Stockton College has an immediate opening for a full-time Coordinator of Student Success and Residence Life.  This 12-month position will assist the Associate Dean for Academic Success in all matters related to student success and retention, as well as assist the Director of Residence Life in educating and empowering students of promise to build a welcoming and inclusive campus community.  

Responsibilities include meeting with students in regards to grades, minor attendance problems, and study skills, assisting with registration days and helping with distance registrations over the summer, advising freshmen, assisting with the coordination of the learning communities, coordinating the summer bridge program, coordinating support of International students, and teaching two to three College Success classes per semester.  In addition, this position will assist with selecting community assistants, facilitate training and meetings with all community assistant staff, freshman placements, move-ins, building closings, and summer housing.  

This position requires establishing a presence in the hall as a live-in professional staff member and participating in an on-call rotation for evenings and weekends, manage the Living Learning Community, supervise all Residence Hall moves through the academic year and submit weekly occupancy for all halls, perform a weekly walk-through of all residence hall buildings with resident directors to follow up on work orders and facility management, work with resident directors in creating hall community assistant staff meetings,  as well as mediate roommate conflicts and work with the Mediation Team to help control roommate issues.

Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree with a master’s in education or related field preferred.  Excellent communication skills, ability to work well with others and strong organizational skills are also required.

HEAD SOFTBALL COACH/COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Culver-Stockton College is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Head Softball Coach and Compliance Officer.  C-SC offers experiential learning with a 12-3 academic calendar which provides an innovative four-year program of studies and experiences that prepares students for career success like no other college or university in the nation.  C-SC fields 19 NAIA sports which compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC).

In Accordance with all NAIA, Heart of America Athletic Conference and Culver-Stockton College policies and procedures, the position of Head Softball Coach/Compliance Officer reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the entire operation of the softball program, including, but not limited to, the recruitment of student-athletes, contest scheduling, practice and contest planning, player skill development, academic monitoring, and office/budget management.  Additionally, the individual will serve as the athletic department’s Compliance Officer and will be responsible for the monitoring, educating, and enforcing the policies and procedures of the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
 
Candidates should possess a demonstrated three to five years of success coaching softball, preferably at the collegiate level, the ability to recruit and motivate student-athletes, a strong commitment to academic success as well as compliance with NAIA, HAAC and institutional policies and procedures.

Library Director

Culver-Stockton College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Library Director. The Library Director provides strategic and engaged leadership to the college library as an academic center supporting the college’s student-centered teaching and learning mission. The Library Director reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the College and has the opportunity for significant discretion and independent action as a member of the VPAA’s collaborative leadership team.

This position requires a master’s degree in library science (doctorate preferred), strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, familiarity with current trends in higher education, and knowledge of online databases and integrated library systems.

Responsibilities of the Library Director include:

• Organization and direction of the activities of the college library.
• Establishment of goals for library programs and assessment of their performance in light of recognized benchmarks.
• Advisement and consultation with the VPAA, other professionals, state and local officials, faculty and staff regarding library affairs.
• Management of library services in order to effectively meet current and future needs.
• Preparation of library reports and maintenance of administrative records.
• Representation of the library and collaboration on dissemination of public information affecting the library.
• Preparation and administration of annual library budgets.
• Management of personnel, including selection and training as well as coordination of staff development and staff evaluation.
• Oversight of library acquisitions to maintain the library collection
• Collaborative work with faculty and administration in the development and implementation of curriculum, including traditional, blended, and online programs
• Maintenance and development of college archives
• Service as MOBIUS site coordinator
• Management of college’s Turnitin program

VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MUSIC

Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Music.  This is a one-year appointment in music education and voice.  There is a possibility of renewal after one year, contingent on budgetary approval.  Responsibilities include elementary and secondary methods, teaching applied voice, supervision of student teachers and other courses as appropriate.  Active recruitment of students to the college, academic advising and college committee work are also expected.
